Jowata African Licensed
Restaurant Adulis, 44 Brixton Road London SW9 6BT A laidback yet elegant haven from the incessant traffic of Brixton Road, Adulis offers traditional Eritrean food. Instruments, artefacts, and images of heroes and heroines from the horn of Africa combine to create an unique environment in which to explore a modest range of aromatic meaty dishes such as kulwa, which is lamb fried in ghee, onion and green chilli. Everything comes with enjera (freshly baked leavened bread) or rice. From a generous list of vegetarian options, how about the misnamed foul - a tasty mix of broad beans, onions and olives, served with cottage cheese, tomatoes and butter? Babies and children are welcome. Larger Groups Info Groups of 12 to 50 can book a meal in the main restaurant, with other diners there. Adulis has recently seen major refurbishment work - it's now bigger and more elegant. The basement is now complete with a bar and dining area. The capacity has now increased to 100 people sitting and 120 standing. We have also extended the size of the main restaurant upstairs with three additional tables sitting 12 people in total. The set menu would suit a sit-down event, the buffet menu a reception. The kiddies get their own menu. Facilities include a TV/video, sound system, and projection screen. Adulis is open seven days a week.
Afrikana 2 Greybury House, Afrikana restaurant in Walsall’s town centre is a surprise, and a fine one at that. This smart, contemporary restaurant is kitted out in the colours of the African veldt with authentic African art on the walls and African music wafting over the sound system. The menu, with section titles culled from many languages, samples the very best dishes from all over the continent expertly interpreted for a British clientele. Intriguing. The beers and wines are entirely African, and the excellent coffee, tea and hot chocolate are not only African, they’re Fair-Trade and organic to boot. Our advice: don’t skip the coffee. Open from breakfast through dinner and you’ll be tempted to stay and stay. Larger Groups Info When you invite your friends, workmates, family to Afrikana or schedule a corporate meal or event here, your guests will enjoy a friendly atmosphere and unique menu. With no private room, groups up to 30 can be seated in the rustic dining room, or hire of the entire venue makes way for 90 adventurous diners seated. Ayoush 58 James Street,Bond Street, London Fantastically fun and buzzy high-quality North African restaurant / Bar with casbah-style decor and differently themed North African 'caves' downstairs. Tuesday night is a Bedouin night, Wednesday is a Ladies night, Friday and Saturday nights see belly dancers and DJ's, Sunday is a family day, or you could try a traditional hubble bubble pipe and a tasty mint tea, as the wine list is an absolute winner. Ayoush is the brainchild of Omar Elawadi, the first Egyptian catwalk model and one of the 80's beautiful people. It was at his house that Marvin Gaye wrote 'Sexual Healing' and a signed album cover is on display in reception. The food is French-African with the emphasis on North African and the odd Berber and Jewish Moroccan influence thrown in for good measure. Not somewhere to take Great Aunt Gertie - unless she's a real party animal, but a fab spot for a night out with your pals or a romantic dinner with your latest squeeze. What's cooking? Tabouleh,Falafel, Hummus, Sambousek, Merguez, Stuffed Calamari, Shawarma, Kebabs, Tagines, Couscous, Sea bass and Salmon. Larger Groups Info Fantastically fun and buzzy North African restaurant with 5 caves that can be hired for between 10 and 15 people or hire the whole place for an unforgettable Hen night, wedding or fabulous event. There is a great 3 course party menu for £24.50 per person - ideal for sharing. Try one of their renowned hookah pipes afterwards.

Caribbean Scene might overlook the murky Thames rather than crystal clear tropical waters and it might be that the ExCel Marina is short on palm trees. But who cares when you can enjoy what the owners of Caribbean Scene call 'the ultimate Caribbean dining experience'? Bright and airy, with a modern Colonial vibe, the restaurant has a laid back atmosphere with a menu to match. The fresh, flavourful dishes such as the CS Traditional Jerk Chicken take inspiration from traditional and contemporary Caribbean flavours herbs, spices and marinades to bring a touch of sunshine to your tastebuds.
